Early Life and Background of   Arijit Singh

Arijit Singh was born on April 25, 1987, in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal, India. Coming from a musical family, he was introduced to music at an early age. His mother was a trained classical singer, which deeply influenced him. He received formal training in Indian classical music under the guidance of Rajendra Prasad Hazari and Dhirendra Prasad Hazari.

Struggles and Early Career of  Arijit Singh

He’s journey to fame was not easy. In 2005, he participated in the reality show Fame Gurukul, where he gained recognition but did not win. However, his talent caught the attention of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who gave him an opportunity to sing in a film. Unfortunately, the song was never released.

To support himself, he started working as a music programmer and background singer. His breakthrough came when he sang “Phir Mohabbat” for the film Murder 2 (2011). However, the song that truly made him a star was “Tum Hi Ho” from Aashiqui 2 (2013).

Rise to Fame 

After the success of Aashiqui 2, he became one of the most sought-after playback singers in Bollywood. His soulful voice and versatility made him the voice behind numerous hit songs, such as:

“Channa Mereya” (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil)
